Meade Deep Sky Imager Deep Sky Imager with AutoStar Suite. Automatically sorts, aligns and combines the best images, extremely low noise, highly detailed color image. With Meade's Deep Sky Imager and AutoStar Suite you will be taking incredible color images of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets your first night out. Until now, producing high-quality deep sky photographs required purchasing very expensive equipment and software, as well as mastery of focus, exposure, guiding techniques. It has been Meade's goal to develop a high-performance, easy-to-use and affordable color CCD camera that would allow every astronomer to shoot and process stunning deep sky photographs—all for less than £320. Today Meade have reached that goal. Take a look at the engineering achievements of this innovative new product.
Meade Deep Sky Imager II Colour CCD Camera The user-friendly astrophotography revolution continues. Introducing the new DSI II. It combines ease-of-use with a larger chip, greater sensitivity, higher resolution, and dramatically lower thermal noise. Meade engineers have invented a remarkable new way to reduce noise without a cooler. This means you can take exposures for hours at a time. And the new thermal monitoring sensors automatically match your dark frames to ambient temperature so it’s nearly impossible to take an uncalibrated picture. The software includes a new zoom feature for easier focusing and the squared pixels of the new larger chip make processing simpler and images more beautiful than ever. The DSI II is the world’s first un-cooled camera with low thermal noise. And that’s as cool as it gets.
Meade Deep Sky Imager Pro The new Deep Sky Imager PRO is the latest innovation from Meade Instruments. The Deep Sky Imager PRO is 2.3 times more sensitive and has 4 times the resolution of the color Deep Sky Imager. It is a high-performance, easy-to-use monochrome CCD camera that allows every astronomer to shoot and process stunning deep sky photographs of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets. This CCD camera is designed with the intermediate to advanced amateur astrophotographer in mind. Purchase the new Deep Sky Imager PRO with our high quality RGB filter set and produce stunning RGB and LRGB images. High Sensitivity Monochrome CCD Sensor from Sony® - The Meade Deep Sky Imager utilizes Sony’s ExView HAD™ Monochrome CCD Image Sensor Technology for incredible low noise and higher dynamic range featuring a 16-Bit A/D converter. USB 2.0 High Speed - Featuring a fast USB 2.0 High Speed connection. This will allow fast data transfer. The actual download time for daytime or planetary imaging is up to 5 frames per second. For longer exposures the download time is 1/2 a second in order to sustain a higher signal-to-noise ratio. There is virtually no delay between the time the image is taken and when it appears on your computer screen. The Deep Sky Imager PRO is also backward compatible with USB 1.1. NEW FEATURES EXCLUSIVE TO DSI PRO Drizzle – Drizzle was developed by NASA for processing images from the Hubble Space Telescope. Drizzle will work on any AutoStar Controlled Telescope. There are 3 enhancements that drizzle adds: Increased resolution. By taking a series of course pixel grid images from the DSI and applying them to a fine pixel grid image we are able increase the effective resolution better then interpolation. Extended View. Images are added to a final image that is up to 2 times bigger horizontally and vertically. The Telescope is then guided to the 4 corners of the image giving a final image that is nearly 4 times larger. Field De-Rotation. By selecting 2 stars, the software will rotate each image before it is applied to the final image.
Meade LPI and Autostar Suite Meade Autostar Suite. This exciting new package includes the following features and more: LPI (Lunar Plantary Imager) combines the power of an electronic astronomical imager/autoguider with the simplicity of the web cam. * Achieve great results the first time out on the Moon, planets, brighter deep-sky objects and terrestrial targets. * Easy to use with real-time display of object on PC screen. Just centre, focus and shoot. * Magic Eye software assisted focusing. * Automatic and manual exposure control from 0.001 to 15 seconds (up to 450x longer than web cams). * Automatically takes multiple exposures. * Automatically selects best images. * Automatically aligns multiple images and combines them into one superior image. * Works as an autoguider for long-exposure astro images. Autostar Suite Software includes powerful tools to help you get the most from your Meade telescope. * Sophisticated planetarium program with over 19 million objects. * Select objects from the planetarium display and have the telescope automatically slew to those objects. * Control all Autostar functions from your PC. * Talking Telescope software translates Autostar text to synthesized speech through PC speaker. * Automatic point-and-click Autostar tour generation. * Create observing lists and download to Autostar. * Remote telescope control over the internet. * Autostar Updater Tool keeps your Autostar current by downloading the latest Autostar system firmware updates; comets, asteroid and satellite data from the internet. An exclusive Meade feature. * Includes cables to connect your Autostar equipped telescope to your PC.
Meade DSI Fan Accessory The new DSI Fan accessory gives DSI and DSIPro cameras a boost by enhancing its air cooled properties. The fan fits all Deep Sky Imager cameras and will keep the camera up to 9°(F) cooler than using the camera without a fan. It comes equipped with a battery pack for simple in-the-field use (batteries not included).

Meade Off-Axis Guider During long-exposure astrophotography it is essential that the photographer (a) is able to observe when the telescope starts to wander slightly off-target, and(b) can make small corrections to the telescope's position to bring the instrument back precisely on-target. The Meade no.777 Off-Axis Guider solves the first of these requirements as it allows the observer to monitor an exposure as the photograph is being taken. (Drive correctors solve the second requirement.) The Off-Axis Guider couples the camera body to the telescope for prime focus photography, but a small part of the light at the edge of the telescopic field is diverted at a 90° angle to the unit, where it is observed on the crosshairs of an illuminated reticle eyepiece to detect any change of position. The guider unit threads to the rear cell of all Meade LX-Series mirror-lens telescopes, to Model 203SC/ 500 and to other brands of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. Use with the appropriate T-Mount, available separately, for your camera brand. Meade - CCD/Photo Visual Flip Mirror Model 644 For CCD imagers of any brand or chip size.
Meade 1.25 inch Flip Mirror System UHTC For CCD imagers of any brand or chip size, Meade flip-mirror systems permit a dramatic reduction in imager set-up time. It allows the CCD user to inspect, centre, compose, and focus the telescopic image immediately prior to the CCD or photographic image being taken. The accessory fits on the rear cell of any Meade LX-Series mirror-lens telescope or other Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope brands.
Meade 2 inch Flip Mirror System UHTC Accepts either 1.25" or 2" eyepieces.Mirror clear aperture 40mm. Recommended for full field 35mm astrophotgraphy or with CCD's of any size, including all Meade Pictor series through 1616 XTE or ST-4 through ST-10 or for visual applications with 1.25" or 2" eyepieces
